If my school required a uniform and I was allowed to design it, I would let the students have an input on the look first. I wouldn't have a strict dress code but instead I would want the students to express theirselves in a school appropriate manors. Basically the look would be jeans and a t-shirt. Graphic t-shirts are allowed but nothing negative or provocative. I would allow dress down days where you could wear yoga pants/ basketball shorts. As long as students don't break the rules and obide by the dress code rules there wouldn't be khakis and a polo shirts. But if it gets to the point where numerous people are breaking the rules over and over again the dress code would be changed.
